When I think of “success,” my cousin is the first person to come to mind. She has done many fantastic things, from playing soccer as a child to starting her own business in adulthood, but that is not why I consider her successful.
Three years before my own high school graduation, I had the privilege of attending my cousin’s graduation ceremony. Her home was filled with the warmth of friends and family, all gathered to celebrate her achievement. As I watched her embrace and engage in lively conversations with her guests, I couldn’t help but feel the genuine care and affection that surrounded her.
It took me some time, but I eventually understood why I held my cousin in such high regard. She is a woman of kindness, confidence, humor, and a magnetic personality that draws people towards her. I must admit, there were moments when I felt a twinge of envy, but more than that, I felt a deep sense of pride in her.
