Ah, the age-old question: What strategies do I use to maintain my health and well-being?
To which I respond: Define “healthy.”
No really—go ahead. I’ll wait.
Because if we’re talking about physical health in the traditional, kale-and-crunches sense… well, let’s just say my food pyramid is more of a dessert tower. Yes, fast food and chocolate-covered cake may be slowly evolving into my main food groups, but guess what? My doctor isn’t waving any red flags, and my blood work isn’t screaming for leafy greens (yet), so I call that a win.
Now, when it comes to well-being—a.k.a. the mental, emotional, spiritual rollercoaster of existing in the 21st century—I take a slightly more deliberate approach. I’ve learned to prioritize things that make me feel human: laughing until I cry, sharing meals (yes, sometimes fast food) with people I love, binge-watching something ridiculous, or writing my way out of my own head.
Also? Sarcasm. The real MVP of my emotional toolkit. Used responsibly, a well-placed snarky comment can defuse tension, lift moods, and remind me not to take life—or myself—too seriously. It’s basically my emotional multivitamin.
Do I meditate? If you count lying on the floor staring at the ceiling while processing existential dread, then yes.
Do I exercise? Sometimes I jog… my memory.
Do I drink water? Occasionally. If it’s flavored and pretending to be juice.
So maybe I’m not a picture of peak fitness. But I’m here. I’m trying. I laugh often, love hard, and make space for joy—however messy or unconventional that looks. And in a world obsessed with wellness trends and curated perfection, maybe the healthiest thing I do… is choose to live well.
With a slice of cake. And a side of sass.
