Embracing My Name: Why I Don’t Use a Nickname

Let’s not couch the truth; I’ve never had a nickname—not for lack of others trying. Nicknames just aren’t my thing. My real name is beautiful—not to sound narcissistic—and my mom made such a unique name for me that I’ve never seen a need to be called anything else.
