Chick-fil-A Worthy Biscuit: A Daily Childhood Joy

Daily writing prompt
What’s your go-to comfort food?

As a child, I attended the school where my mother taught. Instead of taking the bus, I had the joy of riding with her. Each morning, we would stop at a gas station on the outskirts of town, grab breakfast, and savor it on the way to school. This simple routine, filled with warmth and comfort, was my favorite part of the day.

But what did we purchase that was so memorable? A biscuit so delectable, it was Chick-fil-A worthy. This biscuit, with its juicy, pan-fried pork tenderloin and a flaky texture that would crumble in your hands, was a true delight. No jelly or ketchup needed. Paired with an ice-cold bottle of Nesquik from the early 2000s, it was more than comfort food. Our daily Nesquik trek was a testament to my love for that biscuit, and I was never happier than when I was riding shotgun in my mother’s ruby-red car.
