Fire Emblem: Three Houses | Exploring Modes and Gameplay

Daily writing prompt
What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

When I was younger, Pokemon and Fire Emblem were my go-to video games. However, in recent years, due to late work hours, I’ve noticed a decline in playing them. These days, when I do have some free time, I find myself drawn to Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I particularly enjoy the premise and off-mission gameplay, where I take on the role of the students’ tactician and their professor. The game offers a choice of Easy, Hard, or Maddening mode when starting out. While Easy is ideal for beginners and Hard for seasoned intermediate players, I’m still working up the courage to tackle Maddening Mode.

Fire Emblem brings out my inner challenger. Period. Regardless of my chosen mode, I restarted whole missions or chapters if even one of my soldiers fell in battle. It’s the sense of accomplishment I feel when I overcome these challenges that drives me to resume from the previous save point and redo the mission. I won’t tolerate a single death among my men! A bit silly for a game that brings back the characters after a battle when in Easy mode, but what can I say? It’s who I am.
