Perseverance in DIY: The Hamster Habitat Project

Daily writing prompt
Which activities make you lose track of time?

DIY projects are my one vice. I like building or putting things together; however, I can consider the day shot if I start one. For instance, I purchased a hamster habitat with a house and wheel made purely from wood. After work, the delivery was sitting on my bed, but as I assembled the habitat, I realized the house and wheel were DIY. Instead of leaving the project for the following day, I spent two and a half sleepless hours trying to figure out the best way to assemble a mini home and wheel with minimal instructions. It was a test of my determination, but I refused to give up.

Eventually, my perseverance paid off, and I left the habitat, exhausted but with a sense of triumph that comes from overcoming a challenge.
