

What makes a gift great lies not in a tangible want but an intangible need. For instance, getting to know people is exciting and stressful enough to freeze when speaking. My heart thumps in my throat. The words dangling on my tongue yet refusing to let go. Afraid to say something wrong, I seal my lips and often keep to myself. Although I talk to those around me now, I still fear what others say or will say about me. The greatest gift I could receive is someone who shows that I am accepted, wanted, and loved regardless of what others think.
